Cloud can, theoretically, always be reached via communicator, though he won't always answer right away.

You can also knock on his door on level 4, cabin 03.

Alternatively, you can find him during his shifts in the Dining Hall Sat/Sun mornings, Mon afternoons, and Tue/Wed evenings.

[But he'd sounded very unsure about volunteering himself and is understandably conflicted about using his magic, so she'd rather not have him be her first call.]

Hey! Not to cut in on anyone after what's sounded like a busy port, but I had a couple questions I didn't want to sit on much longer. I'm sending this to all the head kitchen staff, so you can...deliberate together, or whatever.

Thinking a lot about food security lately, and a lot about how quickly we'd starve if the Admiral stopped supply without a lot of notice. I'm planning on a little greenhouse renovating to get more food out of the space since I'm in the middle of shuffling stuff around anyway, but that's only going to go so far.

I was wondering if there might be room in the kitchen for someone to put in for a couple freeze dryers? Nothing commercial would fit, I'm sure, but three or four home models should work. I think if we cut back a little on portion sizes or something for a month or two - or even just protein - and put the bulk of what comes out of the greenhouse into it we could make...hackneyed MREs? Freeze dried meals. Light, easy to store - but I don't know how much space the pantry's got either - nothing but adding hot water later. People could come in at night, do the cooking and set things to dry without being in anyone's way. I can't give a hard estimate for how long it'd take, I'd want to aim for four months of two meals daily for about 110 people. Enough to see us through a port or two in some worst-case scenario where there's no supply from the Admiral, but anything's better than nothing.

More dedicated effort to things like canning, pickling, whatever'd be nice too, but it's the meals I'm focused on right now. And blood for vampires, but, uh, one thing at a time.

I'm happy stepping up and looking for other volunteers so it doesn't end up making more work for you guys, and in that case I'd just need someone to let us in and lock up.

So what's the story with Sephiroth, then?

Mmm. D'you think that's why 'e's interested in time travel? Why did 'e want to destroy it?
