Generally Applicable FAQ/Permissions/Content Warnings
CONTENT WARNINGS
The following issues may come up when playing with Cloud:
- PTSD, C-PTSD, and just... general psychological trauma. Cloud has a LOT of trauma, and much of who he is in the present moment is directly related to the trauma of his past. He's not generally inclined to be very forthcoming about it, but it tends to come up eventually whether he likes it or not.
- Dissociation, including but not limited to: dissociative episodes, dissociative amnesia, and alternate personalities/self-states.
- Depression, self-destructiveness, shame, guilt, and low self-worth. By the post-AC canon point I typically take him from, he's doing better with this, but it can and will come up when he's subjected to stress.
- Human experimentation and prolonged captivity. Starting at 16, Cloud was kept in a glass pod in a laboratory and experimented on for 4 years. Canon is vague as to what this entailed apart from 1) mako enhancement (the same type used to create super soldiers) and 2) injections of alien cells. Cloud was catatonic for a year after escaping, and for this and various other reasons I play him as not remembering the specifics very well--just bits and pieces, non-sequential and disjointed.
- Prolonged catatonia due to mental and physical stress. See above.
- Military combat. Cloud was an infantryman in the army starting at 14 years old, so... toss in a warning for child soldiers there too.
- Death. Cloud has lost a lot of people, often in violent and traumatic ways.
- Terrorism. Cloud was part of a domestic ecoterrorist cell, largely by accident. Several of his closest friends were also part of it and those were not by accident.

Sex and sexual situations?

SHIPPING
What do you ship?

Really?
>>>>> No. But I do ship a lot of things, and even the ships that aren't on my "yes please" list are usually more "maybe I guess" than "no." That said, I elect not to ship in games 99% of the time; it's just not what I play in games for. I'm not opposed to it happening, but I'm also not gonna take any steps toward making it happen, with the possible exception of like... really interesting cross-canon CR.
In terms of canon, he's a fandom bicycle for a reason, and he has interesting relationships with a LOT of people. And since I will basically ship him with anyone he has an interesting relationship with, that's... also a lot of people. I'm not aware of any NOTPs. Seriously, come at me, I will ship him with just about anyone.
It's worth noting, though, that Cloud is very unlikely to pursue. I'm not saying it never happens, but it's pretty unusual. Don't expect him to make the first move, or the second. Third move? That's possible.
Miscellaneous preferences: My OTP/3/4 is Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and Zack in any combination. I would kill for some Cloud/Rufus or Cloud/Barret. I think Cloud and Sephiroth are a fascinating dynamic, whether Sephiroth is sane or insane.
